Fristad Parish is looking for a dedicated and responsible seasonal worker who wants to contribute to keeping our churches, cemeteries, and parish houses well-maintained and welcoming environments for everyone.

We are looking for someone who:

• has a green thumb and good physical fitness
• is generally handy and technically inclined
• master the Swedish language in both speech and writing
• can work independently or in a team and take initiative when needed.

Particularly meritorious if you:

• have experience interacting with people of different ages and backgrounds
• have a driver's license for wheel loaders, excavators, brush cutters/chainsaw certification, or lift certification
• can perform minor service and repairs on machinery and vehicles.

Requirements:

• Have at least a high school diploma or equivalent that we assess as comparable.
• Have a B driver's license.
• Share the church's values and be a member of the Church of Sweden. This is because you will serve at Christian services such as baptisms and mass.

Job responsibilities:

• Maintenance of cemeteries and green areas, including lawn mowing, planting, and grave digging.
• Cleaning and supervision of churches and parish houses.
• Participation in funerals.

Conditions:

• Work according to a schedule, 40 hours/week without weekends.
• Workplace: The caretaker's house at Fristad cemetery.
• Monthly salary.
• Season: April 7 to October 31, 2026.

About us

The Church of Sweden in Fristad is located just north of Borås and consists of five churches, six cemeteries, several parish houses, the Church's house, and the Fristad vicarage. The parish has about 9,700 residents, of which 6,300 are church members. The church is an open meeting place for all ages. Fristad Parish has three focus areas: Meeting, Environment, and Diversity.
